Tour Itinerary:
1. Hotel Pickup in Quito & Scenic Drive to Cotopaxi
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Quito at 7:30 A.M. Travel south along the Pan-American Highway, enjoying beautiful Andean landscapes on the way to Cotopaxi National Park. Upon arrival, we will complete the park registration before continuing to the horseback riding area.
2. Horseback Riding Adventure – Pita River Canyon
Meet your local horseback riding guide and receive a brief safety orientation before setting off on a memorable ride through the Andean páramo. Ride gentle horses along scenic trails toward the impressive Pita River Canyon, surrounded by spectacular views of the Cotopaxi and Sincholagua volcanoes.
Enjoy breathtaking landscapes, fresh mountain air, and excellent photography opportunities throughout the ride.
3. Limpiopungo Lagoon – Nature Walk & Birdwatching
Continue to Limpiopungo Lagoon, located approximately 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) above sea level, at the foot of the Rumiñahui Volcano.
Enjoy a short, easy walk along the lagoon while observing the unique wildlife of the high Andes.
Look for Andean gulls, coots, lapwings, and Andean waterfowl. With a little luck, you may even spot the magnificent Andean Condor soaring above the mountains.
4. Return to Quito
After an unforgettable day exploring Cotopaxi National Park, we begin our scenic drive back to Quito, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel. The return aproximately will be at 4 P.M.
